#SaywhoyoUAre - an Instagram contest that aims at awarding one scholarship worth 26.000 euro to attend the upcoming edition of Polimoda’s Master Course in Fashion Marketing and Communications, set to start on June 11th 2018. The contest is part of Vogue UA’s 5-year anniversary celebration and is open only to Ukrainian citizens.rules of the contest state that all participants must come up with a one-minute elevator pitch in English, record it on video and publish it on their personal Instagram account using the hashtag #SaywhoyoUAre no later than April 2nd 2018. The aim of the video is to convince the jury – composed of Polimoda Director and Vogue UA Editor-in-Chief along with Polimoda’s Head of Business Department and leading teachers in Marketing and Communications – that the contestant is the perfect candidate for Polimoda’s aforementioned Master course. Students who are already enrolled in a Polimoda Master or Undergraduate course cannot participate in the selection process.
Danilo Venturi: "At Polimoda we always try to put students in the conditions that are very similar to those of the real working world. The joint contest with Vogue UA follows the same logic: first, in a highly competitive environment like fashion industry, one has to be ready to rise to the challenge from the very beginning. Second, to market and communicate a product efficiently one has first to learn how to present oneself in a smart, ingenious and efficient manner".
The jury will select the best video based on three parameters. The first parameter is content – how convincing, original and creative the pitch is. The second aspect is purely technical and is determined by whether the video corresponds to all the requirements enlisted in the contest rules. The third aspect revolves around the video’s buzz factor, that is to say its ability to have an impact on social media indicated by the number of likes and shares.
The winner of the contest will be announced by Polimoda Director Danilo Venturi and Vogue UA Editor-in-Chief Olga Sushko by mid-April 2018.
