26 editions of Vogue around the world unite for the ‘Hope’ issue
The collaboration follows the success of 2019’s global campaign for Vogue Values, a shared statement of principles signed by all Vogue Editors-in-Chief
LONDON/NEW YORK - August 3, 2020 - Condé Nast today announced the Vogue ‘Hope’ issue, a global collaboration between all 26 editions of Vogue around the world for upcoming September/October issues. The initiative marks the first time in Vogue’s 128-year history that all editions are consolidating under a singular editorial theme, to convey optimism and solidarity as the world faces unprecedented change.
The year 2020 has seen the world grappling with a global pandemic and the effects of the climate crisis, as well as millions of people coming together in support of the Black Lives Matter movement, condemning police brutality and systemic racism. This storytelling initiative aims to manifest a hopeful future for Vogue’s audience of 245 million and communities worldwide, through an amalgamation of creative contributions from each Vogue’s local lens.
As part of the project, all Vogue Editors-in-Chief have contributed to a portfolio of photography, artwork and reportage, representing what the theme uniquely means to them. Vogue’s ‘Hope’ issue will also spotlight young and emerging creative talent, who will positively shape the future of the fashion industry, and elevate uplifting, real life stories alongside contributions from a range of designers, activists and writers.
“As the world is facing a pivotal moment in time, we decided to create one global Vogue issue to harness the title’s collective voice and unite our millions of readers worldwide, through authentic visual storytelling. I would like to thank our brand partners Aveda, Cartier, Chanel, Desigual, Ferragamo, Levi’s and L'Oreal Paris, who have aligned their creatives with this project,” said Jamie Jouning, Chief Client Officer, Condé Nast.
Vogue’s ‘Hope’ Issue includes:
